One game down

I just completed my first game of the year, Mass Effect. I picked up Mass Effect 2 during the Steam sale but I wanted to finish the first game before starting it. I had originally started Mass Effect on the Xbox 360 a few years ago but I lost interest and never finished it.

The game was definitely better on PC and I'm glad I finished it. My play through came in around 30 hours. Now I can finally start part 2 and see what all the hype is about.

Steam Holiday Sale Week 2

I found a few more irresistible buys this week.

$4.99 Sim City 4 Deluxe
$3.24 Guardians of Graxia Game and Map Pack
$5.00 Lucasasrts Jedi Knight Bundle
$6.22 Railroad Tycoon Collection
$2.49 Sid Meier's Pirates!
$4.99 Indie Kids Pack
$1.50 Everyday Genius: SquareLogic

Total of $28.43 which brings the entire Holiday sale damage in at $68.88.

Because I picked up Mass Effect 2 earlier in the sale I decided to start playing through the first Mass Effect. I had started it a few years ago on the 360 but got kind of tired of it and never finished. This time I am playing it on the PC and finding it to be much better. I think I am about halfway through the game.

I am also playing through the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 game with my daughter. I like the LEGO games in general but this one is especially good. There is much less focus on combat and much more focus on the puzzle solving. They also carried over the nice automatic splitscreen feature that appeared in the 2nd Indy LEGO game.

I am also going to start recording all the games I complete this year so I can look back on the year and see what I did.

Steam Holiday Sale

The Steam Holiday Sale (Dec 20-Jan 2) has been going on for the last week and I of course had to buy some of the great deals. So far I picked up:

$0.49 The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
$3.75 Super Meat Boy (I completed this on 360 recently, great game)
$7.49 Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands (Comes with free copy of The Sands of Time)
$1.50 Puzzle Quest (I already played through this on DS a few years ago)
$5.00 Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box (I sunk many hours in to this game on the 360 several years ago)
$0.99 CivCity: Rome
$2.50 Trials 2: Second Edition
$3.75 Bully: Scholarship Edition (I completed this to 100% on 360 a few years ago)
$9.99 Mass Effect 2
$4.99 Borderlands DLC Claptrap (The only DLC I didn't have)

With one week of the sale down I managed to only spend $40.45 which is less than the price of one new console game.

Now I just need to find the time to play all these great games.
